Normal Skin
Based on the answers to the questions, you have normal skin.
Most people's skin falls somewhere in the combination/normal category, which is the broadest skin type. Your skin type requires more of a focus on maintaining your even-keeled skin type.
Your ideal daily routine should consist of the following:
Step 1 - Cleanser
Improper face-washing and using harsh products may do much damage. Effective cleansing for your skin type should incorporate only gentle products that protect your skin's acid balance and moisture levels in gel, foam or lotion based cleansers work best.
Step 2: Toner
The main thing you should avoid is toners. A toners job is to balance oil production, so they mainly benefit oily or combination skin. If you introduce a toner to your normal-skin regimen, you run the risk of confusing your face.
Step 3: Exfoliant
When skin cells remain in place for too long, skin begins to look dull, tired and dehydrated.
Integrating an acid-based exfoliant into your beauty routine not only keeps skin looking fresh and healthy.
Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) or mechanical exfoliants such as a scrub or rotary brush (ie: Clarisonic) are the most common ways to exfoliate your skin. Weekly exfoliation is highly beneficial for your skin type, it helps to address blackheads, whiteheads and minor acne breakouts.
Exfoliation should be performed 3-4 times per week to maintain skin health.
Step 4: Mask
Normal skin can benefit from pretty much any kind of face mask, so it will come down to trial and error to determine which one is compatible with your skin.
Balance is key to help you maintain healthy skin, and a good strategy is to choose products that will protect by way of antioxidants (Vitamin C & E) and give plenty of hydration (Hyaluronic Acid).
Step 5: Serums
Antioxidant serums are best for your skin type. Antioxidants are substances that protect cells from stressors daily, from sunlight to pollution. These types of stressors speed up the rate at which skin ages.
Antioxidants can also helps to rebuild lost collagen, which supports volume within the skin, preventing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
Step 6: Moisturizer
Your well-balanced skin needs a well-rounded moisturizer. Use a lightweight hyaluronic acid based moisturizer to strengthen and preserve your skin’s moisture barrier.
Step 7: SPF
Use an SPF of 30 or greater 365 days a year. When skin is compromised from unprotected sun exposure, it makes it less able to hold moisture.
