ACIDS IN YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

GLYCOLIC

Derived from sugarcane and has one of the smallest molecules in AHAs found in skincare. It can penetrate deeper than any of the other common AHAs, making it one of the strongest AHAs, but also one of the harshest and is not recommended for sensitive skin.

Skin Type/Condition:

All except sensitive

Skin Benefits:

  • Clears hyperpigmentation

LACTIC

Derived from diary products and not recommended for people with milk allergies.

This is a gentler AHA that is a great starter acid.

Skin Type/Condition:

Dry and sensitive

Skin Benefits:

  • Improves skin natural moisture factor.
  • Simulates collagen production.

MANDELIC

Derived from almonds and not recommended for people with nuallergies.

It does not penetrate your skin as fast as other acids and also shows effects slower. Mandelic acid is an excellent solution for people who have sensitive skin that is easily prone to rashes and irritation.

Skin Type/Condition:

Sensitive, Oily and Acne-Prone

Skin Benefits:

  • Improves skin natural moisture factor.
  • Simulates collagen production.

TARTARIC

Derived from many plants such as grapes, apricots, avocados, apples, and tamarinds.

Dry

Skin Benefits:

  • An antioxidant, with the ability to protect your skin from the harmful ravages of free radicals.
